Mind Body Medicine - What is it all about?
Body and Mind in Balance
The term Mind Body Medicine was originally coined at Harvard University in Boston and is defined as follows in Switzerland according to the Swiss Professional Association for Mind Body Medicine (SFMBM):
“Mind Body Medicine is a modern, integrative health concept that harmonizes body and psyche, promotes self-care and is used both preventively and therapeutically. The aim is to alleviate symptoms and strengthen self-efficacy through multi-modal therapy concepts. Mind Body Medicine combines the latest scientific findings with proven methods from complementary medicine, psychology, nutrition and sports science and is offered in both group and individual treatments.”
Numerous clinical studies have proven the effectiveness of Mind Body Medicine.
