Rhodonite – A Journey of Discovery into the Alpine Mountains Above Furtschellas

Join us on an exciting quest to discover the origins of rhodonite

Course 1: Thu, July 16, 2026

Day Hike

Various manganese-rich
minerals have long been found in this region—including rhodonite, a
strikingly pink rock. Rhodonite is not a
chance find here, but a naturally occurring mineral
that has formed within the rock over millions of years.

Hike duration:
approx. 2.5 hours, 6–7 km, and 400 meters of elevation gain. The hike is planned as a day trip including a picnic.

In addition to exploring the terrain, the focus is on treating
nature with respect and ensuring safety in the mountains.
The goal is to walk through the landscape with open eyes,
learn new things, and better understand the geology of this unique
region.

After returning, the experience continues at the Creative Box:
stone cutter Francesco Cortesi helps give your individual
finds a new form. You decide what your
piece of jewelry should look like!

Course fee:
CHF 160 per person, including a picnic (without overnight stay)

On the evening before the excursion, we invite you to the hotel for an aperitif and an introduction by Michela Paganini.
