On Architecture, Space, and Place

CURATED QUOTES FROM ARCHITECT GION A. CAMINADA

Gion A. Caminada, known for his philosophical approach to architecture, begins each project with a carefully considered concept. He believes in minimizing arbitrariness and striving for the best possible solution throughout the design process. Even when a solution seems apparent, Caminada is all for discarding it and starting afresh to ensure true innovation. This collection of quotes offers a glimpse into the mind of this Grisons architect and serves as a small manifesto on the art of building.

The Architect in the Right Place

GION A. CAMINADA CREATES RESONANCE WITH HIS MINIMALIST STYLE

From the beginning, the owners envisioned architecture as a central element in the realization of Hotel Maistra 160. The design was entrusted to renowned architect Gion A. Caminada, whose minimalist approach perfectly aligned with this vision. Caminada, who served as a tenured professor of architecture and design at ETH Zurich until January 2023, was the perfect choice to bring the project to life.

Hotel Development: Bridging Dreams and Reality

Speech at the opening of Posthotel Löwen Mulegns

Below is an excerpt from her speech at the opening of the Post Hotel Löwen in Mulegns on June 4, 2021.
